RC Kit Car Recommendations
« on: October 15, 2015, 07:57:41 pm »
After a recent spin in a two seater kart my son wants us to build a go kart.

I'm thinking a RC kit Car would be more appropriate. Obviously i want a petrol one but due to cost and my son only being 5 maybe a battery one is a better choice.

I had a tamiya grasshopper 2 when i was young and totally destroyed it so need something strong.

I'm thinking about a Tamiya The Lunch Box. anyone into this? have any recommendations?

Tamiya?! That's a word I haven't heard for about 25 years!

Wasn't there a brand called Schumacher too?

Proper blast from the past this. I used to build the little mini Tamiyas that ran off AAs. Went to some convention at the NEC too. Even built my own track, and aftermarket spoilers made out of sections of 2 litre pop bottles!

Mostly forgotten about it all until I saw this thread..

The monster beetle looks good. A bit more expensive. Will see if my dad can find mine so i can save some cash on the controller/receiver etc (unless its outdated now).

Monster Bettle...end off.

I remember buying mine back in the day, loved it. I still race (with friends) RC these days but 1:8 Nitro buggies....EPIC FUN but that first Bettle

(Now trawling web looking for an original 1:10 Monster beetle......damn you).

They have a new version (2015) of the monster beetle. Don't think the design has changed too much.

^^^^ Looks identical to mine from 30 years ago. Found the same thing while trawling the web earlier, about £125 on the bay.
